Demand a Just and Lasting Peace in Ukraine—No Deals Without Democracy and Human Rights

Target: President Donald Trump, President Volodymyr Zelensky, and the United States Congress

Goal: Call on President Trump and President Zelensky to ensure any peace agreement with Russia is transparent, respects Ukraine's territorial integrity, and centers the voices and rights of the Ukrainian people.

As President Zelensky prepares to meet with President Trump at the White House, critical decisions are being made about the future of Ukraine and the lives of millions. The push for a rapid peace agreement must not come at the expense of Ukrainian sovereignty, democracy, or human rights.

Recent high-level talks between U.S., Russian, and Ukrainian leaders have raised hopes for an end to the devastating war in Ukraine. However, history shows that rushed peace deals—especially those brokered without full accountability—often fail to deliver justice, security, or true peace for those most affected.

We urge President Trump, President Zelensky, and all negotiators to reject any agreement that undermines Ukraine's sovereignty or ignores the voices of civil society, frontline communities, and human rights defenders. Peace must not be imposed from above or traded for political expediency. The world is watching, and the Ukrainian people deserve a future built on justice, democracy, and self-determination.

We also call on Congress to exercise oversight and ensure that any U.S. involvement in negotiations upholds international law and the principles of human rights.
