Target: U.S. Congress, White House, and Department of State
Goal: Urge U.S. leaders to pursue a foreign policy that centers human rights, supports Ukrainian sovereignty, and promotes a just peace through multilateral diplomacy—not by appeasing authoritarian leaders.
President Trump's recent interview with Fox News, in which he praised Vladimir Putin and placed the burden of peace on Ukraine, sends a dangerous message to the world. By absolving Russia of responsibility for its invasion and aggression, and by suggesting that peace is solely Ukraine's responsibility, the U.S. risks undermining international law and emboldening authoritarian regimes.
We call on our elected officials to reject rhetoric that normalizes or excuses military aggression. Instead, the U.S. must work with international partners to hold Russia accountable for its actions, support Ukraine's right to self-determination, and pursue a diplomatic resolution that respects the sovereignty and safety of all people in the region.
Peace cannot be achieved through one-sided negotiations or by ignoring the voices of those most affected. We demand a principled approach that centers justice, human rights, and meaningful multilateral engagement.
