Target: President Donald Trump, the White House, and U.S. Congress
Goal: Ensure that any negotiations regarding Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity are conducted transparently, with full Ukrainian participation, and without concessions that legitimize Russian aggression.
At the recent summit in Alaska, President Trump met with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss the ongoing war in Ukraine. Despite public expectations for a ceasefire, the meeting ended with ambiguous statements and no concrete progress toward peace. Instead, reports indicate that agreements about Ukraine's territory were discussed and possibly reached—without Ukraine's direct involvement or consent.
Such backroom deals undermine Ukrainian sovereignty and violate the principles of international law. History has shown that appeasing aggression by conceding territory only emboldens further violations, as seen with the annexation of Crimea and subsequent invasions. The Ukrainian people, who have endured immense suffering and loss, must not be sidelined in decisions about their own country.
We call on President Trump, the White House, and Congress to commit to transparent, inclusive negotiations that respect Ukraine's sovereignty and prioritize a just peace. The U.S. must not legitimize territorial conquest or undermine democratic allies in Europe.
