Target: President Donald Trump and the United States Government
Goal: We call on President Trump and the United States government to immediately shift course: demand a ceasefire in Ukraine, refuse to legitimize Russia’s aggression, and ensure that any peace process centers Ukrainian sovereignty and international law.
The Alaska summit ended with President Trump offering major concessions to Vladimir Putin, including backing away from new sanctions and focusing on a drawn-out peace process rather than an immediate ceasefire. This approach benefits Russia, allowing it to continue its offensive and inflict further suffering on Ukrainian civilians. The absence of Ukrainian and European voices at the summit, and the lack of tangible progress toward ending the violence, are unacceptable.
Trump's willingness to entertain Russia's terms undermines international law and the post-World War II norm that borders cannot be changed by force. It also sends a dangerous signal that autocrats can manipulate global diplomacy for their own gain. The United States must stand with Ukraine and uphold its commitments to democracy, human rights, and peace.
We demand immediate action to protect Ukrainian lives, restore meaningful diplomacy, and hold Russia accountable for its aggression. The world cannot afford more delays, empty promises, or photo-op summits that leave Ukraine bleeding.
