Goal: We call for an immediate halt to the militarization of Washington, D.C., transparency in all National Guard deployments, and a commitment to protecting the rights of all residents and demonstrators.
The deployment of National Guard troops in Washington, D.C. by President Trump, under the pretext of cracking down on crime, sets a dangerous precedent for the use of military force in civilian spaces. History has shown that such measures often lead to the suppression of free speech, the intimidation of peaceful protesters, and the erosion of trust between communities and those sworn to protect them.
We believe that public safety must be achieved through community investment, dialogue, and respect for constitutional rights—not through intimidation and force.
