For decades, politicians have invoked the struggles of everyday Americans—like the fictional Joe and Eileen Bailey—to justify policies. But the real Joe and Eileens across the country have been left behind by a political system that prioritizes corporate donors and the ultra-wealthy over working families. It's time for the Democratic Party to return to its roots and fight for justice, dignity, and opportunity for all.

The narrative that the Democratic Party has 'abandoned the center' ignores the reality that millions of working-class Americans—across all backgrounds—are still struggling to make ends meet. Wages have stagnated, healthcare costs have soared, and housing is increasingly out of reach. Meanwhile, corporations and billionaires continue to benefit from tax breaks and loopholes.

We reject the idea that fighting for student debt relief, affordable healthcare, and fair wages is 'radical.' These are basic necessities that every family deserves. We demand a Democratic Party that stands unapologetically for reproductive freedom, racial justice, and humane immigration policies. We demand investments in public safety that address root causes of crime—like poverty, lack of opportunity, and underfunded schools—instead of relying solely on punitive measures.

It's time to listen to real people, not just political consultants' imaginary voters. We urge Democratic leaders to embrace a vision that puts people first and builds a future where everyone can thrive.
