Target: President Donald Trump, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, European Union leadership, U.S. Congress
Goal: Ensure that any peace negotiations regarding Ukraine are conducted with full Ukrainian and European participation, uphold Ukraine's sovereignty, and reject any agreements made without their direct consent.
The recent Alaska summit between President Trump and President Putin failed to deliver a ceasefire or concrete steps toward ending Russia’s war of aggression in Ukraine. Instead, President Trump has shifted toward advocating for a 'peace agreement' without first securing a ceasefire, a position that aligns with the Kremlin’s interests and risks prolonging violence on the ground.
Ukrainian President Zelenskyy and European leaders were excluded from the Alaska summit, despite being directly impacted by the ongoing conflict. Decisions about Ukraine’s future must not be made behind closed doors or without the full participation of those whose lives and security are at stake.
We demand that any negotiations or agreements about Ukraine’s sovereignty, borders, and security must be conducted transparently, with Ukraine and its European allies at the table. International law and the right to self-determination must be respected. The world cannot allow backroom deals that ignore the voices of Ukrainians or enable further aggression by Russia.
We call on President Trump, President Zelenskyy, and European leaders to ensure that all negotiations are open, inclusive, and uphold Ukraine’s right to determine its own future. No agreement should be made without a ceasefire, ironclad security guarantees, and the direct consent of the Ukrainian people and their democratically elected government.
