Demand Ironclad Security Guarantees for Ukraine’s Sovereignty

Target: German Federal Government, European Union leadership, and international negotiators on Ukraine

Goal: Urge the German government and European Union leaders to secure and implement effective, material security guarantees for Ukraine as a prerequisite for any negotiated settlement with Russia.

Ukraine’s sovereignty and statehood are under threat, and any peace settlement with Russia must be built on strong, enforceable security guarantees. As global leaders meet to discuss Ukraine’s future, we must ensure that words are backed by real, tangible support.

Recent high-level talks between US President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin have renewed focus on the urgent need for a just and lasting peace in Ukraine. However, history has shown that vague promises are not enough. Ukraine’s government has made clear that only concrete, enforceable guarantees will ensure its sovereignty and statehood are preserved in any agreement.

European leaders, led by Germany, have recognized that peace cannot be achieved without 'ironclad security guarantees' that go beyond rhetoric. This is a critical moment for the international community to stand in solidarity with Ukraine, ensuring its right to self-determination and territorial integrity are protected.

We call on the German government, the EU, and all negotiating parties to prioritize Ukraine’s security and to provide the material, substantial, and tangible support needed to make peace sustainable and just.
