Support Inclusive Peace Talks for Ukraine: Europe Must Have a Seat at the Table

Target: European Union leadership, national governments of EU member states, and international diplomatic bodies
Goal: Ensure that European countries, especially Eastern EU nations and Ukraine, are directly involved in all diplomatic efforts to secure a just and lasting peace.
The ongoing war in Ukraine has caused immense human suffering and instability throughout Europe. While the recent Trump-Putin meeting offers a potential opening for peace, it is unacceptable for European countries to be left out of the process. The Slovak National Party (SNS) has rightly called for Europe to play an active role in shaping any agreements that will affect the region’s security and future.
Eastern EU countries, including Slovakia, have a direct stake in the outcome of these negotiations. Their perspectives and needs must be heard and respected. Excluding them undermines democratic principles and risks imposing solutions that do not reflect the realities on the ground.
We call on European leaders and international diplomatic bodies to demand an inclusive peace process. All parties directly impacted by the war must be at the negotiating table to ensure a fair, just, and lasting resolution for Ukraine and the region.
Key Demands
- Guarantee direct participation of European Union member states, especially Eastern EU countries and Ukraine, in all diplomatic negotiations regarding the war in Ukraine.
- Ensure transparency and public accountability in all peace talks and agreements.
- Prioritize the voices and needs of those most affected by the conflict, including Ukrainian civil society and displaced persons.
- Commit to a peace process that upholds international law, human rights, and the sovereignty of Ukraine.
- Reject any agreements made without full European and Ukrainian participation.
