Target: US President Donald Trump, President Volodymyr Zelensky, President Vladimir Putin, European Union leaders, and NATO Secretary General
Goal: Ensure that any peace agreement on Ukraine is transparent, protects Ukrainian sovereignty, and is shaped by Ukrainian civil society and international human rights standards.
The ongoing war in Ukraine has caused immense suffering, displacement, and loss of life. While recent talks between President Trump, President Putin, President Zelensky, and European leaders are a step toward ending the violence, peace must not be negotiated behind closed doors or at the expense of Ukrainian sovereignty and human rights.
We welcome efforts to end the war, but demand that any agreement be transparent, inclusive, and uphold the rights and self-determination of the Ukrainian people. The international community must ensure that peace is not just the absence of fighting, but a just and lasting resolution that addresses the root causes of the conflict and secures accountability for all war crimes.
We call on all negotiating parties to center Ukrainian voices, especially those of civil society, displaced persons, and marginalized communities, in the peace process. Security guarantees must be real and enforceable, and no deal should restrict Ukraine’s democratic choices or partnerships. The world must stand in solidarity with Ukraine for a peace rooted in justice, human rights, and international law.
