Goal: Ensure that any negotiations regarding Ukraine’s sovereignty, security, and international status are transparent, inclusive, and uphold the principles of self-determination and international law.
We, the undersigned, call on European leaders and all parties involved in the proposed trilateral summit to ensure that any negotiations over Ukraine’s future are conducted with full transparency and meaningful participation from Ukrainian civil society. Decisions about Ukraine must not be made behind closed doors or without the direct involvement of those most affected. The sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine must be non-negotiable, and no external power should dictate the terms of peace or Ukraine’s international alignment.
We welcome the commitment to 'ironclad security guarantees' for Ukraine, but caution that these must be developed in consultation with the Ukrainian people and in accordance with international law. We oppose any deal that limits Ukraine’s right to self-defense, international cooperation, or its chosen path toward the EU and NATO. Furthermore, we demand that any economic measures or sanctions be carefully targeted to avoid harm to ordinary people, and that humanitarian needs remain a top priority.
Peace cannot be achieved without justice, accountability, and respect for human rights. We urge all leaders to center these principles in all negotiations and to ensure that the voices of Ukrainian civil society, refugees, and marginalized communities are heard and respected.
