Goal: We call on US leaders to prioritize justice, transparency, and Ukrainian sovereignty in all negotiations with Russia, and to reject any process that normalizes aggression or undermines democratic values.
The high-profile summit between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin failed to deliver any meaningful progress toward ending the war in Ukraine. Instead, it provided a platform for Vladimir Putin—who faces an international arrest warrant for war crimes—to push his narrative and avoid accountability.
Trump’s vague statements and refusal to take questions, combined with his willingness to echo Putin’s talking points about US elections, signal a dangerous normalization of Russian aggression. Meanwhile, Ukrainian voices and demands for justice have been sidelined, and there is no evidence of real concessions from Russia or a commitment to a just peace.
We demand that US leaders stand firm against war crimes, defend Ukrainian sovereignty, and ensure that any negotiations are transparent, inclusive, and rooted in international law. It is unacceptable to legitimize aggression or to sacrifice justice and democracy for the sake of political showmanship.
