Target: United States Government, European Union leadership, and all participating summit negotiators
Goal: Ensure that any peace negotiations or security guarantees for Ukraine are transparent, robust, and enforceable, with full participation from European partners and civil society.
The world is watching as leaders from the United States, Russia, Ukraine, and Europe discuss the future of Ukraine and the path to peace. While diplomatic engagement is welcome, history has shown that unenforceable promises and backroom deals can undermine the sovereignty and safety of vulnerable nations.
We call for any security guarantees for Ukraine to be ironclad, transparent, and subject to international oversight. The voices of European partners and civil society must be included at every stage of negotiations to ensure that the interests of the people most affected are protected. Sanctions and economic measures must remain in place until Russia ends its aggression and withdraws from Ukrainian territory.
We urge negotiators not to sacrifice justice or Ukraine’s territorial integrity for the sake of expediency. True peace requires accountability, reparations, and a commitment to upholding international law.
