Target: US President, Russian President, European Union Leaders, and International Mediators
Goal: Ensure that any peace process regarding Ukraine is transparent, inclusive, and respects the sovereignty and self-determination of the Ukrainian people.
The recent summit between the US and Russia has raised alarm among many observers and Ukrainian representatives. Reports indicate that decisions about Ukraine's future may be made behind closed doors, without the meaningful participation of Ukrainian civil society or democratic institutions. This undermines the principles of self-determination and international solidarity.
Peace is urgently needed, but it must not come at the expense of Ukraine's sovereignty or through secretive deals that ignore the voices of those most affected. We call on all leaders involved in these negotiations to commit to a transparent process that centers the needs and rights of the Ukrainian people, and to reject any peace plan that is imposed without broad democratic consultation.
