Target: US President Donald Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte
Goal: We urge US and European leaders to support a peace process in Ukraine that centers human rights, democratic participation, and justice—not a rushed settlement imposed from above.
According to recent reports, President Trump and other Western leaders are pressuring Ukraine to accept a rapid peace deal with Russia, rather than pursuing a ceasefire and a transparent, inclusive negotiation process. Such a move risks ignoring the voices of Ukrainians and the broader international community, and could lead to an unjust settlement that fails to address the root causes of the conflict.
We are deeply concerned that an imposed settlement, negotiated behind closed doors, will not ensure accountability for war crimes, protect the rights of displaced people, or guarantee Ukraine's sovereignty and democratic future. True peace must be built on justice, human rights, and the participation of those most affected by the war.
We call on all parties to reject any hasty deal that sacrifices justice for expediency, and to commit instead to a transparent, inclusive peace process that upholds international law and the rights of all Ukrainians.
