Goal: We call on European leaders and the international community to guarantee that peace talks do not compromise Ukraine’s territorial integrity, and to strengthen measures against ongoing Russian aggression.
The recent statement by European leaders after the Alaska summit makes clear that the international community must not allow Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine to continue unchecked. While welcoming efforts to end the violence, we insist that any peace process must prioritize Ukraine’s sovereignty, uphold international law, and ensure robust security guarantees.
We are deeply concerned by reports that Russia continues to launch attacks on Ukraine, even as negotiations are discussed. History shows that temporary pauses without real accountability only embolden aggressors. We urge European leaders to stand firm: there can be no concessions of Ukrainian territory, no weakening of sanctions, and no acceptance of Russian vetoes over Ukraine’s future.
We demand that the voices of Ukrainian civil society and those most affected by the war are included in any peace process. The path to a just and lasting peace must be grounded in justice, accountability, and the right of all people to live free from occupation and violence.
