No meaningful progress was made toward a ceasefire, and Vladimir Putin was not held accountable for violations of international law. Instead, the summit allowed Putin to position himself as an equal to the US president, gain time, and escape further sanctions or consequences.
This lack of transparency and accountability undermines democratic values and the global pursuit of peace. We demand that the US government adopt a foreign policy that centers the voices of those most affected, prioritizes human rights, and ensures that aggressors are not rewarded with legitimacy on the world stage.
