Target: US President Donald Trump, Secretary of State, and White House National Security Council
Goal: Ensure that any future peace negotiations regarding Ukraine are fully transparent, include Ukrainian representation at every stage, and do not make decisions about Ukraine without Ukrainian consent.
The recent summit in Alaska between President Trump and President Putin ended with vague statements and no announced ceasefire or tangible steps toward peace in Ukraine. Despite the direct impact on Ukraine and Europe, Ukrainian President Zelensky and European leaders were only briefed after the meeting, not included as equal participants. This lack of transparency and inclusion undermines the principles of self-determination and international cooperation.
European leaders and Zelensky have repeatedly stressed that Ukraine's security and sovereignty must not be compromised in any negotiations. There is widespread concern that backroom deals could pressure Ukraine into making unacceptable territorial concessions to Russia, threatening Ukrainian democracy and stability in the region.
We call on the US government to commit to full transparency in all future negotiations with Russia regarding Ukraine, ensure Ukraine has a seat at the table, and guarantee that no decisions about Ukraine are made without Ukrainian consent. Peace and security in Europe must be built on democratic participation and respect for sovereignty—not secretive deals.
