Target: United Nations Security Council, International Criminal Court, and governments worldwide
Goal: Prevent the forced expulsion and mass relocation of Palestinians from Gaza, uphold international law, and protect the rights and dignity of the Palestinian people.
The Israeli government, with support from some international actors, has openly discussed plans to relocate large numbers of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to other countries. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other officials have described this as a 'voluntary' measure, but the reality on the ground tells a different story. After months of relentless military assault, much of Gaza has been rendered uninhabitable, leaving its 2 million residents with little choice but to flee.
Forcible transfer of a population under occupation is a grave breach of international law, including the Fourth Geneva Convention. Rights organizations and the majority of the international community have condemned these proposals as ethnic cleansing and a violation of Palestinians' right to remain on their land.
We call on the international community to take urgent action to stop any attempts at forced relocation, ensure accountability for violations of international law, and protect the rights and dignity of Palestinians in Gaza.
