Target: President of the United States, U.S. Congress, U.S. Department of State
Goal: Ensure that any peace negotiations regarding Ukraine are transparent, include Ukrainian representatives, and uphold Ukraine’s sovereignty and rights under international law.
The Alaska summit between President Trump and President Putin was presented as a step toward ending the devastating war in Ukraine. Yet, the meeting excluded Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and failed to secure even a temporary ceasefire. Instead, it granted President Putin international recognition without meaningful concessions, while the suffering of Ukrainian civilians continues.
We are deeply concerned that the U.S. administration is prioritizing political optics and backroom deals over the voices and rights of Ukrainians. The principle of 'nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine' must be upheld. Peace cannot be imposed from above or negotiated over the heads of those most affected.
We demand that the U.S. government commit to transparent, inclusive diplomacy that centers Ukrainian agency, rejects any legitimization of territorial conquest, and maintains strong support for Ukrainian civil society and humanitarian needs. The U.S. must not trade away Ukrainian sovereignty for short-term political gains or normalization with authoritarian leaders.
We urge Congress and the administration to act now—before further lives are lost and principles of international law are eroded.
