The recent high-level meeting in Alaska between President Trump and President Putin addressed the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, yet notably lacked any Ukrainian presence at the table. Decisions about Ukraine's future and the lives of its people should not be made without Ukrainian voices. Excluding Ukraine from these critical discussions not only disrespects their sovereignty but also risks undermining any potential for a just and lasting peace.
We call on US leadership to uphold democratic values and international law by ensuring that Ukraine is directly involved in all negotiations about its own future. Furthermore, we demand transparency in these diplomatic processes, so that the public and global community can hold all parties accountable.
