Goal: Ensure any peace agreement regarding Ukraine is negotiated transparently, with full participation from Ukrainian representatives and respect for Ukraine’s sovereignty.
President Trump’s recent summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin has been described as "productive," with both leaders expressing optimism about a potential agreement to end the war in Ukraine. However, these talks have taken place largely behind closed doors, with little input from Ukrainian civil society or international human rights observers.
Peace is urgently needed, but any deal must not be brokered solely by foreign powers without the full participation of Ukraine’s democratically elected leaders and its people. History has shown that lasting peace can only be achieved through transparent negotiations that respect the sovereignty and self-determination of all nations involved.
We call on President Trump and the U.S. government to commit to an open peace process that centers Ukrainian voices, upholds international law, and ensures accountability for all parties. The future of Ukraine must not be decided without Ukrainians at the table.
