Demand Transparency and Ukrainian Self-Determination in Trump-Putin Negotiations

The Trump-Putin summit in Anchorage, Alaska, has resulted in vague statements of 'progress' without any concrete details or commitments to transparency. Decisions impacting the future of Ukraine must not be made behind closed doors or without the direct involvement and consent of the Ukrainian people and their democratically elected representatives. The international community must stand firm in upholding the principles of self-determination, sovereignty, and democratic accountability.

We call on President Trump and all U.S. officials involved in these negotiations to:

• Release full transcripts and summaries of all discussions with Russian officials regarding Ukraine.
• Commit to including Ukrainian and European Union representatives in all future negotiations impacting Ukraine’s security and territorial integrity.
• Affirm that no agreement will be made without the explicit approval of the Ukrainian government and the Ukrainian people.
• Reject any attempts to pressure Ukraine into accepting terms that undermine its sovereignty or international law.
• Support a transparent, multilateral peace process that centers the voices and rights of those most affected by the conflict.

The future of Ukraine must not be decided in secret meetings or as part of geopolitical bargaining. We demand democratic accountability and respect for the rights and voices of the Ukrainian people.
