Target: US President Donald Trump, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and the US State Department
Goal: Ensure that any peace process on Ukraine is transparent, includes Ukrainian voices, upholds international law, and centers the rights and safety of civilians.
The recent summit between President Trump and President Putin, held in Alaska without the presence of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, risks sidelining the voices and rights of those most affected by Russia's war in Ukraine. While the stated goal is a ceasefire and peace, there are legitimate fears that any agreement reached without Ukraine's full participation could freeze the conflict, legitimize territorial occupation, and undermine international law.
Over 1.2 million people have been killed or injured in this devastating war, with thousands of civilians losing their lives. The International Criminal Court has issued a warrant for President Putin for alleged war crimes, including the deportation of Ukrainian children. The US and Russia must not ignore these grave crimes or allow negotiations to become a platform for impunity.
We call on President Trump and the US government to ensure that any peace process is transparent, includes Ukraine as a full and equal participant, and guarantees the safety and rights of civilians. The world must not accept a 'peace' that rewards aggression or disregards justice. The Ukrainian people deserve a just, lasting peace—one that is negotiated with them, not for them.
