Target: President Donald Trump, US Congress, US State Department, and international mediators
Goal: Ensure any peace negotiations on Ukraine's future are led by Ukrainians, uphold international law, and demand accountability for war crimes.
The Trump-Putin summit in Anchorage failed to deliver a ceasefire or meaningful progress toward ending the war in Ukraine. Despite public statements about 'pursuing peace,' the talks did not include Ukraine's President Zelenskiy or Ukrainian representatives. This exclusion is unacceptable and undermines the right of the Ukrainian people to determine their own future.
We are alarmed by any suggestion of territorial concessions or 'freezing' the conflict without Ukraine's direct involvement. History shows that deals made over the heads of affected people rarely lead to lasting peace or justice. Furthermore, Vladimir Putin is wanted by the International Criminal Court for war crimes, and there must be accountability for the atrocities committed during this conflict.
We call on President Trump, the US government, and all international mediators to center Ukrainian voices in negotiations, uphold international law, and refuse any agreement that legitimizes aggression or rewards war crimes. Peace must be just, not merely expedient.
