Target: US President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio
Goal: Ensure that any negotiations regarding Ukraine’s sovereignty and future include direct representation from Ukraine and are conducted transparently, with meaningful input from civil society and international observers.
The Alaska summit between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, joined by their top officials, is underway. However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Ukrainian representatives have been excluded from these pivotal talks, despite the summit's focus on the ongoing war in Ukraine. Decisions about Ukraine’s fate must not be made behind closed doors or without the direct involvement of the Ukrainian people and their elected representatives.
We call on the US and Russian governments to honor Ukraine’s sovereignty and the principles of international law by ensuring that Ukraine is included in all negotiations about its future. Furthermore, we demand that these talks be conducted transparently, with the participation of independent observers and civil society organizations, to guarantee accountability and uphold democratic values.
Peace in Ukraine cannot be achieved through secretive deals or by sidelining those most affected. The world is watching—stand for justice, transparency, and the right of Ukrainians to determine their own future.
