Target: U.S. Congress and the White House
Goal: We call on Congress and the White House to implement a fairer tax system that prioritizes working families, protects essential public services, and ensures the ultra-wealthy and corporations pay their fair share.
The OBBBA promises tax cuts averaging $3,752 in 2026, but these cuts disproportionately benefit the wealthy and large corporations while threatening the long-term stability of our country. The bill makes permanent the 2017 tax cuts, expands corporate loopholes, and offers only temporary relief to working families. Meanwhile, the national debt is projected to soar by $4.1 trillion by 2034, endangering funding for education, healthcare, infrastructure, and social safety nets.
Tax cuts for the rich and corporations have failed to deliver broad-based prosperity. Instead, they deepen inequality and undermine the programs that working people rely on. The OBBBA's structure means that rural and lower-income communities receive the smallest benefits, while wealthy individuals and businesses in affluent areas reap the largest rewards.
We demand a tax system that invests in people, not just profits. It's time to close corporate loopholes, restore progressive taxation, and reinvest in the public goods that make our country strong.
