Goal: To pressure world leaders, especially the United States and Russia, to take concrete steps to protect civilians in Ukraine and ensure accountability for war crimes.
During the recent summit in Anchorage, Alaska, President Vladimir Putin was twice asked by journalists if he would commit to stopping the killing of civilians in Ukraine. Instead of providing a clear answer, he responded with evasive gestures and silence. This lack of accountability is unacceptable.
The ongoing war in Ukraine has resulted in thousands of civilian deaths, destruction of homes, and the displacement of millions. International law prohibits targeting civilians, and world leaders must act to uphold these principles.
We call on the United States, Russia, and the United Nations to take immediate action to protect civilians, investigate war crimes, and ensure justice for victims. The world is watching, and silence is complicity.
