Target: President Donald Trump, U.S. Congress, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, U.S. State Department, and the White House
Goal: Ensure that Ukraine is a full and equal participant in all negotiations about its future, and that any peace agreement upholds international law, Ukrainian sovereignty, and human rights.
The world is watching as President Trump and President Putin hold talks in Alaska about ending the devastating war in Ukraine. Yet, Ukraine’s own government and people are being sidelined from these negotiations. No peace deal can be legitimate if it is negotiated over the heads of those most affected.
We are alarmed by reports that President Zelensky and Ukrainian representatives are not included in these talks, despite the war’s catastrophic toll on Ukrainian lives, sovereignty, and territory. Allowing Russia and the U.S. to dictate terms without Ukraine’s full participation risks legitimizing aggression, rewarding war crimes, and setting a dangerous precedent for international relations.
We call on President Trump and all U.S. officials to reject any backroom deals or land swaps that undermine Ukraine’s territorial integrity. The voices of Ukrainian civil society, displaced people, and victims of war crimes must be heard. Any agreement must be transparent, uphold international law, and guarantee accountability for those responsible for atrocities.
We demand:
Peace cannot be imposed. It must be built with justice, dignity, and the consent of those most affected. Stand with Ukraine. Demand a just, inclusive peace process now.
