Hold Lawmakers Accountable for Fossil Fuel Corruption and Attacks on Clean Energy

The 'One Big Beautiful Bill Act,' signed into law last month, represents a massive giveaway to the fossil fuel industry at the expense of clean energy jobs, public health, and our planet’s future. According to a report by Climate Power, Republican lawmakers who backed this bill have received over $105 million in oil and gas donations during their careers. These same politicians voted to slash credits for clean vehicles, wind, and solar—undermining progress made under the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA).

Shockingly, even representatives from districts benefiting most from clean energy investments—like Rep. Andrew Garbarino (NY), Sen. Lisa Murkowski (AK), and Sen. John Curtis (UT)—voted to cut these vital programs. Vulnerable House Republicans, who collectively accepted over $3 million from fossil fuel interests, also supported this anti-environment legislation, betraying their constituents and the climate.

Our democracy cannot function when lawmakers put the interests of billionaire oil donors above the needs of their communities and the planet. We must expose this corruption, demand accountability, and restore support for clean energy and working families.
