Demand Diplomacy, Not Escalation: End U.S. Funding for Endless War and Restore Congressional Oversight

The latest round of U.S.-Russia negotiations, coupled with Congressional moves to escalate funding and sanctions, threatens to entrench endless war and undermine democratic accountability. Despite campaign promises to end funding for the Ukraine conflict, bipartisan Senate committees are advancing measures to send billions more in military aid, while the administration continues to use dangerous rhetoric and pressure tactics that risk further escalation—including nuclear posturing and the abandonment of key arms control agreements.

Meanwhile, the American people face urgent crises at home: unaffordable healthcare, crumbling infrastructure, and growing inequality. The prioritization of endless military spending over the needs of working families is unacceptable. The cycle of escalation also fuels global insecurity, from Ukraine to Gaza, where U.S. policy continues to enable humanitarian catastrophe and undermine prospects for peace.

We call on Congress and the President to halt further military escalation, restore robust oversight and transparency, and redirect resources to address the real needs of people at home and abroad. It is time to end the politics of endless war and invest in diplomacy, justice, and peace.
