Protect Our Communities: Demand Repeal of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (BBB)

The One Big Beautiful Bill Act (BBB), recently signed into law, is a direct attack on the most vulnerable members of our society. Instead of supporting working families, seniors, and veterans, the bill:

• Cuts over $1 trillion from Medicare, Medicaid, and the Affordable Care Act, jeopardizing healthcare for at least 17 million Americans, including more than 1.6 million Texans and 100,000 South Texans.
• Slashes $200 billion from SNAP, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, threatening food security for over 65,000 households in South Texas alone and millions nationwide.
• Imposes new red tape on Medicaid, making it harder for eligible people to get and keep coverage.
• Pushes up healthcare premiums, risks the closure of hospitals and nursing homes, and endangers care for seniors and veterans.
• Reduces access to school meals for children, risking increased hunger and malnutrition.
• Hurts farmers, truckers, and small businesses by causing a projected $25 billion drop in farm revenue.
• Offers only temporary, minimal tax cuts for working families, while the ultra-rich receive tens of thousands in permanent tax breaks.
• Increases the national debt by over $4 trillion, placing future generations at risk.
