Target: President Donald Trump, U.S. Administration, and Negotiators at the Alaska Meeting
Goal: Urge President Trump and all negotiators to prioritize human rights, transparency, and the voices of Ukrainian civilians in any peace process with Russia.
The ongoing war in Ukraine has caused immense suffering, displacement, and loss of life. As President Trump meets with President Putin in Alaska, there is an opportunity to end the violence and pursue a just, lasting peace. However, we are concerned by the emphasis on business interests and the lack of public commitment to human rights and Ukrainian self-determination.
Peace negotiations must not be driven by economic deals or the interests of powerful elites. Any agreement must center the needs and voices of Ukrainian civilians, uphold international law, and ensure accountability for war crimes. We call on all parties to make the process transparent and inclusive, and to reject any settlement that undermines Ukraine's sovereignty or rewards aggression.
We demand that President Trump and all negotiators:
Peace must be just, not just profitable. Stand with the people of Ukraine and demand a transparent, principled peace process.
