Target: Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump
Goal: Secure the freedom of all Russian and Ukrainian political prisoners detained for anti-war activism, journalism, and social media expression.
Since the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine, the Russian government has enacted harsh censorship laws and prosecuted hundreds of individuals for opposing the war. Journalists, activists, and ordinary citizens have been jailed simply for expressing their views or sharing information from non-government sources. Many Ukrainian civilians are also being held in Russia and occupied territories, separated from their families and denied basic rights.
We urge Presidents Putin and Trump, as they meet to discuss the future of the region, to take a decisive and irreversible step: agree to the unconditional release of all political prisoners detained for anti-war activities, journalism, and peaceful protest. This act would be a powerful gesture towards peace and reconciliation, and a necessary step in upholding human rights and freedom of expression.
We stand in solidarity with Yulia Navalnaya and all those calling for justice and freedom. The world is watching—let this be the moment when compassion and justice prevail.
