Protect Fair Redistricting and Democracy: Oppose Partisan Gerrymandering Efforts

Across the United States, partisan politicians are attempting to redraw congressional maps to entrench their own power and undermine the will of voters. In Texas, Republican leaders are preparing another special legislative session to push through redistricting plans designed to favor their party, following pressure from former President Donald Trump. Meanwhile, California and other states are taking steps to counterbalance these moves, highlighting the urgent need for national action.

Gerrymandering distorts democracy, allowing politicians to choose their voters instead of voters choosing their representatives. This practice disproportionately harms communities of color and undermines public trust in our electoral system. We cannot allow backroom deals and partisan interests to dictate the future of our democracy.
