Goal: Ensure that any negotiations regarding Ukraine’s future are transparent, inclusive, and centered on Ukrainian self-determination, with no agreements made without Ukraine’s direct involvement.
President Trump's summit with President Putin in Alaska has far-reaching consequences for European security and the trajectory of the war in Ukraine. Yet, the exclusion of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy from these talks undermines the principle of 'nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine.'
We are deeply concerned that decisions affecting millions of Ukrainians are being discussed behind closed doors, without transparency or the input of those most impacted. The suggestion that Ukraine should consider territorial concessions, or that the U.S. might offer security guarantees outside of NATO, raises serious questions about the respect for Ukrainian sovereignty and democratic rights.
We call on U.S. leaders to commit to open, inclusive diplomacy that centers Ukrainian voices and upholds international law. No peace deal or security arrangement should be made without Ukraine's direct participation and consent.
