Demand Full Ukrainian Representation and No Backroom Deals at the Alaska Summit

The upcoming summit between President Donald Trump and President Vladimir Putin in Alaska threatens to sideline Ukraine from decisions about its own future. Reports indicate that Ukraine was not invited to the talks, raising serious concerns about the legitimacy and fairness of any potential ceasefire deal. Any agreement made without Ukraine’s participation risks legitimizing territorial aggression and undermining international law.

We call on all parties to reject any backroom deals that freeze the conflict at the expense of Ukrainian sovereignty or recognize illegal occupations. The voices of Ukrainians and their democratically elected leaders must be central to any negotiations. Furthermore, any security guarantees or peace arrangements must be developed transparently and in full partnership with Ukraine and its allies.

The world must not allow the normalization of land grabs or the sidelining of smaller nations in favor of great power politics. We urge President Trump and all summit participants to commit to an inclusive, just, and lasting peace that respects Ukraine’s rights and international law.
