Target: President Donald Trump, U.S. State Department, and Congressional Foreign Affairs Committees
Goal: We call on the U.S. government and international community to reject any agreements or negotiations that divide Ukraine or undermine its sovereignty, and to ensure that Ukrainians are central to any peace process.
The upcoming summit between Presidents Putin and Trump has raised alarming reports that the fate of Ukraine may be decided without meaningful Ukrainian participation. Speculation about dividing Ukraine into spheres of influence—ceding eastern Ukraine to Russian control and potentially integrating western Ukraine into Poland or NATO—undermines the fundamental principles of international law and democracy.
Any negotiation that disregards the will of the Ukrainian people and their right to self-determination sets a dangerous precedent for international relations. We must not allow powerful states to redraw borders or determine the futures of smaller nations through backroom deals. The U.S. government must stand firm in supporting Ukraine’s territorial integrity and democratic aspirations, and refuse to legitimize any agreement that violates these principles.
We urge all concerned citizens to demand accountability, transparency, and respect for Ukraine’s sovereignty in all diplomatic discussions.
