Target: Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Goal: Urge the Department of Health and Human Services to restore and expand funding for mRNA and other vaccine research, prioritize public access, and combat disinformation.
The COVID-19 pandemic demonstrated the urgent need for rapid, equitable vaccine development and distribution. Public investment in mRNA technology led to life-saving vaccines, but the benefits must be shared fairly and not dictated by profit or politics. Halting research now puts millions at risk, especially marginalized communities disproportionately affected by disease and lacking access to care.
We call on the Department of Health and Human Services to recommit to robust, publicly funded vaccine research and to guarantee that all people—regardless of income, race, or immigration status—can access safe, effective vaccines. We also urge immediate action to counter vaccine disinformation and protect public health workers from violence and harassment.
Public health is a collective responsibility. Science must be guided by evidence and the common good, not by ideology or corporate interests. We demand a transparent, accountable, and justice-oriented approach to vaccine research and distribution.
