Demand a Just and Lasting Peace in Ukraine—No Territorial Concessions to Aggression

The upcoming Alaska summit between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin has raised hopes for a ceasefire in the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. However, reports suggest that the agenda includes proposals for Ukraine to cede territory in exchange for peace—a move that would reward military aggression and set a dangerous precedent for the world.

We, the undersigned, believe that any peace agreement must be based on the principles of sovereignty, self-determination, and respect for international law. Territorial swaps or forced concessions under the threat of violence undermine these principles and betray the Ukrainian people, who have already suffered immense loss and displacement.

We call on all participants in the Alaska summit and any subsequent negotiations to:

• Reject any deal that requires Ukraine to surrender its internationally recognized territory.
• Ensure that all negotiations are inclusive, transparent, and prioritize the voices and rights of those most affected by the conflict.
• Commit to upholding international law and holding perpetrators of war crimes accountable.
• Support robust humanitarian aid and reconstruction efforts for all communities impacted by the war.

Peace cannot be built on injustice. Stand with us in demanding a process that leads to a just and lasting peace for Ukraine and the region.
