Stop the Politicization of Sports: Oppose UFC Events at the White House

Sports have long served as a unifying force, bringing together people from diverse backgrounds to celebrate athleticism, perseverance, and fair competition. However, recent developments suggest that the UFC, under the leadership of Dana White, is planning to hold a major event at the White House in collaboration with President Donald Trump. This unprecedented move threatens to blur the lines between sports and politics, using the platform of the presidency to advance private and partisan interests.

We believe that the White House should remain a symbol of unity and governance, not a venue for commercial sporting events. The integrity of both the UFC and the presidency is at stake. Allowing this event to proceed sets a dangerous precedent, where sports organizations may be co-opted for political gain, and public institutions are used to promote private businesses.

We call on Dana White, the UFC, and the Office of the President to halt plans for a UFC event at the White House. Instead, we urge them to respect the boundaries between sports and politics, and to ensure that athletic events serve the public good, not partisan interests.
