Target: President Donald Trump, President Vladimir Putin, U.S. Congress, Russian State Duma, and the United Nations
Goal: Ensure the Putin-Trump summit in Alaska is conducted with transparency, accountability, and a focus on peace, human rights, and the voices of impacted communities.
The upcoming Putin-Trump summit in Anchorage, Alaska, marks a historic moment. However, the secrecy and militarization surrounding the event, as well as the lack of public engagement, raise grave concerns. The summit’s primary topic is the ongoing conflict in Ukraine—a crisis that has cost thousands of lives and displaced millions. Yet, the voices of those most affected remain excluded from the negotiating table.
Reports from the ground highlight not only the logistical challenges faced by the Russian delegation, but also the overwhelming military presence and lack of transparency. This summit must not become another closed-door meeting where the interests of ordinary people are sidelined in favor of political spectacle.
We demand that the summit prioritize peace, human rights, and the inclusion of civil society voices. The public deserves to know what is being discussed and decided in their name. We urge both governments to commit to transparency, public oversight, and meaningful steps toward ending the conflict in Ukraine and promoting international cooperation.
