The recent partnership between T1 Energy and Corning marks a significant step forward for American-made renewable energy. With plans to manufacture solar panels entirely within the United States, this initiative is expected to create around 6,000 jobs in Michigan and Texas. While this domestic investment is a positive development, we must ensure that the transition to clean energy is just and equitable for all workers and communities involved.

Historically, manufacturing jobs in the U.S. have been plagued by wage stagnation, unsafe working conditions, and environmental hazards. As we build the solar supply chain of the future, we cannot repeat the mistakes of the past. We urge T1 Energy, Corning, and all partners to commit to:
