Goal: Ensure that any peace negotiations between the United States and Russia regarding Ukraine are transparent, uphold Ukraine’s sovereignty, and do not involve territorial concessions without the explicit consent of the Ukrainian people.
The upcoming summit between President Trump and President Putin in Alaska is a pivotal moment for global peace and security. Reports suggest that territorial 'swaps' and compromises on Ukraine’s borders may be on the table, with little input from Ukrainian leadership or civil society. Such secretive negotiations threaten to undermine Ukraine’s sovereignty, international law, and the right of peoples to self-determination.
We are deeply concerned by the exclusion of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky from the main negotiations, and by suggestions that territory could be 'divvied up' without democratic consent.
