Maine's reproductive health clinics are facing devastating funding cuts due to federal policies that block Medicaid support for providers offering abortion services. These cuts threaten access to essential health care for thousands of Mainers, especially in rural and low-income communities.

Recent federal actions have stripped Medicaid funding from critical health care providers in Maine, including Planned Parenthood and Maine Family Planning. These organizations deliver a wide range of services—cancer screenings, STI testing, contraception, and more—to some of the state's most underserved communities. Blocking Medicaid funds does not reduce the need for these services; it only makes them harder to access, disproportionately harming low-income individuals and rural residents.

We urge decision-makers to reverse these harmful policies and restore funding to ensure that all Mainers can access the health care they need.
