Target: U.S. Congress, State Department, and the White House
Goal: We call on Congress and U.S. government officials to ensure full transparency, accountability, and principled foreign policy in all negotiations with Russia, and to unequivocally support Ukrainian sovereignty and democratic values.
The Alaska summit between President Trump and Vladimir Putin has alarmed citizens and allies alike. The lack of transparency, absence of detailed diplomatic notes, and the willingness to entertain land swaps at Ukraine’s expense all signal a dangerous shift in U.S. foreign policy. This approach not only undermines the sovereignty of Ukraine, but also emboldens authoritarian regimes and jeopardizes the security of Europe and the world.
President Trump’s repeated deference to Putin, including inviting a leader indicted by the International Criminal Court onto U.S. soil, erodes America’s standing as a defender of democracy and human rights. The absence of clear, principled stances threatens to make the U.S. an accomplice to aggression, rather than a bulwark against it.
We must demand that U.S. leadership act with integrity and transparency, uphold commitments to allies, and refuse to concede to authoritarian demands. The American people, our allies, and the people of Ukraine deserve nothing less.
