Target: Prime Ministers of India and Pakistan, and their respective Parliaments
Goal: We call upon the governments of India and Pakistan to reclaim their sovereign decision-making, prioritize regional peace, and resist undue influence from external powers that seek to divide and exploit South Asia.
South Asia has a rich history of leaders who prioritized peace, dialogue, and regional cooperation over external pressure and divisive agendas. Past prime ministers and presidents from both India and Pakistan have demonstrated the courage to defy foreign demands and instead pursue policies that benefited their people and neighbors.
Today, however, we witness a troubling trend: increasing alignment with foreign powers, militarization, and the marginalization of voices advocating for dialogue and mutual respect. This shift has led to heightened tensions, economic exploitation, and a weakening of democratic institutions.
We urge our leaders to remember the legacy of statesmanship and regional solidarity, to resist the temptations of foreign patronage, and to recommit to a peaceful, just, and cooperative South Asia.
