In light of recent Independence Day speeches and media portrayals—including films and news headlines—that amplify militaristic rhetoric and nationalistic fervor, we urge our leaders and media to choose the path of peace. Escalating threats and glorification of conflict only deepen divides and endanger lives on both sides of the border. Instead, we must foster a climate that values dialogue, mutual respect, and cooperation. We call on policymakers and media organizations to act with responsibility, promote balanced narratives, and invest in diplomatic solutions for lasting peace in the region.
